Utility Billing Changes: Effective February 1st

• Sewer Base Rate: $17.00 per month was $16.00
• Sewer Rate: $8.75 per 1,000 gallons per month was $8.50
• MN Test Fee: $15.22, once a year in June, was $9.42 (Determined by the State,  view "MN Test Fee- Also known as Safe Drinking Water Fee" on our Water Sewer Page)
• Water Rates remain the same

Included on Utility Bills:

• Streetlights: $1.50 per month
  • The City Council voted to impose a monthly fee to help cover the rising cost of electricity, avoid raising property taxes, to ensure fair cost distribution, and to help create a dedicated funding stream. Having streetlights helps to improve public safety as it reduces car accidents, crime rates, and pedestrian hazards. 
• Stormwater: $4.00 per month
  • The City Council voted to impose a monthly stormwater fee to fund the management of rainwater and runoff in a dedicated, legally compliant way. This fee will fund infrastructure costs, capacity upgrades and repairs, support treatment and pollution control, helps the city to meet state and federal clean water requirements, ensures stormwater services are independent from property taxes, and supports system upgrades for heavier rainfall and extreme weather events.
