The City of Eden Valley is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-focused individual to serve as our City Clerk / Treasurer. This full-time position plays a central role in managing city operations, finances, elections, and more. As Clerk/Treasurer, you’ll oversee daily city functions, budgeting, grant writing, you will clerk the city council, planning committee, EDA, parks and trails, and long-term planning. You’ll also serve as Zoning Administrator, manage Accounts Payable/Receivable, and administer municipal elections.
Salary Range: $28.17-$41.70
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare budgets and manage city finances
Oversee AP/AR, payroll, grants, and audits
Serve as liaison between Council, staff, and the public
Administer elections and maintain official records
Lead strategic planning and zoning administration
Desired Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, accounting, business, finance, planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Several years (e.g. 3–5+) of progressively responsible experience in municipal government or local government administration, including financial management and clerical or records functions.
Experience with municipal accounting, budgeting, grants management, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of election laws, records management, open meeting laws, zoning/land use regulations.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; diplomatic ability to work with elected officials, staff, and the public.
High level of organizational skill with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in office software (spreadsheets, word processing, accounting software) and familiarity with agenda/minutes management systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion in political and sensitive matters.
Familiarity with zoning and land use regulations a plus
